Submerged mariculture on Hawaii
West Hawaii today has an article about a local aquaculture company who wants to lease 81 acres of ocean for a deep sea fish farm located 2,000 feet (600 meters) offshore of Unualoha Point, north of Kona International Airport. The company wants to cultivate about 10,000 kahala per month in six submerged cages about 150 to 200 feet (45 to 60 meters) underwater.
