OTEC used as negotiation tool in the Marshall IslandsAccording to the Marshall Island Journal (continued here) the negotiations about continued use of the Island of Kwajalein by the US defence forces could be unlocked by promising to install an OTEC system for the island.

Seawater air-conditioning in CuraçaoEvelop is building a seawater air-conditioning system in Curaçao. I visited Evelop Caribbean and talked to the Business Director of Evelop Caribbean, Gilbert Gouverneur about the project. The project is worth €15-20 million and could decrease the energy use for air-conditioning by 90%.
