OTEC Environmental workshop by NOAA and DOE

From June 22 – 24, 2010, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Department of Energy (DOE) hold a workshop on the potential environmental impacts of OTEC facilities. The workshop is a step towards increased collaboration and coordination which is crucial to the advancement of OTEC development.

Workshop on OTEC readiness

In November 2009, NOAA’s Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management (OCRM) as the lead licensing agency for OTEC, in cooperation with the Coastal Response Research Center hosted a OTEC technology workshop to assess the technical readiness of OTEC.
